Our Story

1997 - Husband and I attend High School together but don't have the same social circles. He is in fact a nerd and I'm much too cool for him. He is a senior and I'm a sophomore.

2001- Weird creepy guy tries to pick me up in a chatroom, he says we went to high school together. Three weeks later we go on our first date.

Jan 2002- One night at dinner he decides to join the Air Force. Enlists the very next day. Marriage plans accelerate!

September 2002- We get married a year and 17 days after our first day. He leaves for basic training the next day. Its also my birthday.

Feb 2003- We move to our first duty station in Georgia. We haven't been preventing a pregnancy all this time but not trying either. 1 deployment.

August 2004- We get orders back to Florida to a base that is in our hometown. He deploys in October. I start thinking more seriously about weight loss surgery.

May 2005- We go to Las Vegas for that honeymoon we keep meaning to have. Another deployment in September. Again not preventing a pregnancyt but since I want surgery, its ok that its not working but very frustrating still.

September 2006- I have gastric bypass, it took almost a year of testing and appointments. I'm told to wait a year to TTC.

June 2007- We are gearing up for September so as an added precaution Husband goes for a SA. They call us back 2 hours later and ask us to come in ASAP. No sperm were found at all, he is referred to urology.

August 2008- A year of testing poking and prodding gives no answers. Testicular biopsy confirms the Azoospermia. We had decided in the last year to use DS.

November 2008- I go to Keesler AFB as part of thier fertility program. I cycle cancelled for a csyst and another because it fell to close to christmas.

January 2009- Kidney function down, put on major drugs, not allowed to pursue fertility treatments.

November 2010- Gastric bypass repair for the hole the medications ate through my stomach.

July 2011- Reconsult with local RE, everything looks in order- kidneys are good and we start testing and monitoring of my cycle!

September 2011- DIUI #1 BFN

October 2011- DIUI #2

November 2011- BFP! 1 Beautiful heartbeat!

February 2012- It's a girl!

July 11, 2012- Amelia is born!
